SB&A worked with the project architect, Pentalink Architects, to prepare the landscape and rooftop courtyard design for the 4 acre Foss Home expansion. The new design envisioned expanding the facility to include individual and assisted living apartments, expanded nursing home capacity, new kitchen and dining room facilities, and other amenities like indoor and outdoor community spaces. It also included constructing a new Lutheran Church to replace the existing Church on the corner of the property. An expansive underground parking facility for about 205 cars and storage facilities will underlay the complex.
SB&A developed several roof top courtyards with water features and pedestrian circulation paths paying close attention to ADA accessibility issues and the needs of the Senior tenants. A combined courtyard was also design to accommodate both the residents and the church parishioners for weddings, socials, and church services.
