King County Library System

Redmond Library

SB&A, as a sub-consultant, participated in the site planning and landscape design for this 35,000 square foot facility. Working within Redmond's community design standards, the landscape was designed to accentuate the primary and secondary entrances to the building, as well as connections to the pedestrian circulation system that leads to the adjacent civic center campus. The development of the project included utilization of an existing parking lot and the transplanting of large trees, which would have been destroyed due to the development of the building. The trees are now used to buffer the parking lot from the building. Included in the SB&A services were landscape planning and design, irrigation design, salvaging and relocating of mature trees, and construction observation services.
