Susan E. Black, President

Principal, Landscape Architect

 

Ms. Black has over 21 years of professional experience in public and private landscape design and park and open space planning. She has participated on a number of large multidisciplinary teams as manager of design, environmental assessment and mitigation in addition to providing design and master planning services for a range of jurisdictions and medium and small-scale parks, private properties and treasured historic assets.

  Susan founded SB&A in 1994.  Since that time, the firm has been providing professional design and planning services to public clients and private corporations and individuals.  Susan has  developed expertise in historic resources preservation and planning, design for sculpture and art and environmentally neutral impacts from development.  She has assisted the State Capitol Campus managers with their historic assets, Fort Lewis to manage its historic resources and the University of Washington with preservation of a 1920s outdoor theater known as the Sylvan Grove Theater.
